Customer Review Videos

Real installation and test videos from YouTube creators.

Ryobi’s $4,000 electric riding mower ships with lead-acid batteries that are destined to fail — usually within 2–3 seasons. In this video I show the lithium conversion I finally settled on after testing the original four-battery setup: a cleaner, simpler single-battery solution that needs less wiring, no balancing headaches, and delivers way more real-world runtime.

Why convert at all?
The stock lead-acid pack is the #1 failure point on these mowers. Switching to LiFePO4 gives you:

  • ⚡ 2–3x the usable runtime with consistent power (no more blades slowing down below 50% charge)
  • ⚖️ 150–200 lbs less weight — better handling, less stress on the drivetrain
  • 🔋 8–10 year lifespan vs. replacing lead-acid every 2–3 years
  • 🔌 Faster charging and zero acid/watering maintenance

In this video:

  • The “better” conversion vs. my original 4x LiTime 12V 100Ah setup
  • Which battery I now recommend (and why a single 48V golf-cart-style pack is the move)
  • Charger settings (48V / 10A) and the charging-port tip that skips rewiring
  • The key-switch fix — what it is, when you actually need it
  • Balancing, BMS, and the warranty fine print you should know before you buy

Models covered: RY48111 (mine), plus RY48110, RY48112, RY48113, and notes on RM300e / RM480e / RM480EX.

⚠️ Heads up: some battery brands don’t officially support mower use and may not honor warranty — do this at your own risk.

DIGI MARKER 48V 67Ah LiFePO4 Battery — Installed in a Ryobi RM300E

Watch the DIGI MARKER 48V 67Ah LiFePO4 battery drop straight into the battery bay of the Ryobi RM300E 30" electric riding mower — replacing the original 4× 12V 50Ah lead-acid pack for a lighter, longer-lasting, faster-charging power upgrade.

In this video we walk through the full installation, step by step, and fire it up to show real-world performance.

Why upgrade from lead-acid to LiFePO4?

✅ +34% more capacity — 67Ah vs. the stock 50Ah → more lawn mowed per charge
✅ ~4× lighter — roughly 16 kg vs. the ~60 kg lead-acid pack → less strain on the deck and drivetrain
✅ 3,000–5,000+ charge cycles vs. ~300–500 for lead-acid → years of trouble-free service
✅ Faster charging, no memory effect, no sulfation, zero maintenance
✅ Built-in BMS — overcharge / over-discharge / short-circuit / overcurrent protection
✅ LiFePO4 chemistry — the safest lithium, stable and non-flammable, no thermal runaway

Specs:

  • Voltage: 48V
  • Capacity: 67Ah
  • Chemistry: LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate)
  • Drop-in replacement for: Ryobi RM300E / RY48130

Lead-Acid to Lithium: Why Upgrade Your Golf Cart Battery

Swapping lead-acid for a 48V 67Ah LiFePO4 pack is the single biggest upgrade you can make to a golf cart. At 52.8 lbs it is a fraction of the weight of the lead-acid set it replaces, so the cart accelerates harder, the motor works less, and every charge goes further. With 4,000+ cycles and no watering or terminal corrosion to manage, it also costs far less to own over its lifetime.

Compact 7.87-Inch Height for a True Drop-In Fit

Measuring 15.75 x 8.66 x 7.87 inches with a slim 7.87-inch profile, this pack slips into a standard golf cart battery compartment without cutting, welding, or adapter brackets. The same footprint makes it a clean 48V replacement for Ryobi riding mowers and similar 48V equipment. At 52.8 lbs, one person can lift it into place and finish the swap in under 30 minutes.

Up to 30 Miles Per Charge for 2-Seat Carts

A 3.43 kWh pack with 150A continuous discharge delivers roughly 30 miles (48 km) of range per charge - enough for daily errands and shuttle duty on a 2-seat golf cart. Max output of 7.2 kW keeps the cart moving on inclines and with a light load, and under gentle use it can cover several 18-hole rounds before it needs plugging in.

Smart BMS and Bluetooth App Monitoring

A built-in 300A BMS continuously tracks current, temperature, and state of charge, while the Bluetooth app puts all of it in your hand. Auto-sleep cuts parasitic drain when the cart is parked, the fault log lets you send a screenshot to support instead of guessing, and app lock keeps the pack unusable even if the key goes missing. You can also cap the charge level to extend service life.

The 48V 67Ah Lithium battery was extremely easy to install in my Ryobi RM300E lawnmower. The mower now operates better than new. It now goes up slopes in my yard with ease. Also, I'm able to cut my yard and the neighbors yard with more than 70% remaining on the battery. Before the upgrade I had to charge the battery after just my yard. Highly recommend for Ryobi lawnmower battery upgrade/replacement.
