A Mini Lithium Upgrade for Greg's 2004 Precedent

A week after putting a DIGI MARKER 48V 100Ah Mini in his 2004 Precedent, Greg Yort had a cart with more acceleration and more hill-climbing power than it had before. The battery went in on one side of the compartment under the seat, and the kit that came with it covered most of what the job needed.

A Perfect Fit for the 2004–2008 Carts

On the fit, Greg keeps it simple: the Mini is "a perfect fit for the 2004-2008 model", where it sits on one side under the passenger or driver seat.

The job is not plug-and-play. "This installation does require some rewiring," he wrote, and his advice for anyone without the tools is to pay someone who has them. He also pointed at the good YouTube videos showing how to remove the old OBC on these carts.

What Comes in the Kit

The kit is the part he liked most. It includes the battery, charger, charging port, and cables, plus a built-in step-down to 12 volts. The main cables between battery and cart are the exception: if yours are corroded, he said, get a new set of 4 AWG.

Greg went to an automotive store and made his own three-foot cables instead. "I wish I would have made them 3.5 ft but 3 ft did work," he wrote. They work; next time he would leave a little extra length.

The One Issue Was Shipping

"The only issue I had was the battery shipped several days later than promised." The company answered quickly when he asked about it, and the battery arrived well packed about two weeks after ordering.

What he saw once it landed left him confident about the quality: thick metal case, quality connectors, good mounting points, very good instructions. He did not open the pack, since that would void the warranty, but noted there is a YouTube video from someone who did, for anyone curious before buying.

Week One, and Eight Years

After a week the battery is working great, in his words, with the gains showing up in acceleration and hill climbing. He registered for the 8-year warranty, hoping he never needs it.

Whether it lasts that long is an open question he leaves open himself: "Will see if the battery lasts 8 years."
